142 years of AWESOME. Or weirdness. Possibly weirdness.

OHAI, so you know what day it is? It's freaking Canada Day, guys. A holiday falling in the middle of the week that mostly consists of red-and-white cake, lighting things on fire and lamenting how the booze boutique is closed. (Unless you're in Toronto right now, at which point you have other things to lament.)

The weather is... indifferent to stormy. Many a fireworks show is likely to be rained on. It's also kind of cold. O, Canada!

We are now 142 years old, which some countries have stuff legitimately called "new" that's older than that. I might live to see the bicentennial. Woo!

Anyhow, go get some poutine or whisky in our honour, today. (*think* Man, if the poutine shop downtown is open today, and it damn well should be, I am so there. Maybe I should just head up to the park for the festivitivities, y/n? If it doesn't rain.)

In other news, Callum is going to be on 24. Two bucks says he's evil and dead by the end of his run.

And query: If I don't find a suitable physical-type gift for my stepdad's bday this weekend, it's not lame to get both him and my mom (whose bday is three days after his) a gift card to, say, The Keg, as a subsidiary gift to my mom's present to him of a baseball game and a night over in the Tdot? It'd work for both of them, and they would hardly object to free beef. y/n?

canada day, query, segues are for the weak, birthdays, \o/, food, no value
