It'd go something like this.
So, I've been watching rather a lot of The Big Bang Theory because of the hilarity (the mom and the BFF insisted I try it) and lo, it is win. This from a person who only very rarely tolerates sitcoms, let alone enjoys them. Apparently, what it takes is a sitcom anchored by characters with PhDs.
Anyhow, for some reason I got to wondering if Sheldon Cooper and Benton Fraser would get along famously or drive each other crazy(er). Both Fraser and Sheldon have a vast talent for over-explanation that could conceivably amuse them for hours; however, Sheldon wouldn't know tact and courtesy if it got up and erased his whiteboard. Fraser, being generally tolerant, would probably excuse Sheldon on the grounds that he's clearly constitutionally incapable of anything but accidental politeness. Of course, they could probably logic each other nigh unto death -- and Fraser, having a better understanding of social nuance, would probably drive Sheldon up the wall by accepting unreasonable premises.
Neither Ray would have anything do to with the guy, I expect.
Anyhow, that's been kind of breaking my brain. (P.S. I am SO BUYING the Periodic Table shower curtain. Because I CAN.)
Also, in C6DBB chat on Saturday there was a lot of talk of AUs. Someone wanted to know what the Thoughts on dS high fantasy AU was. Mostly it'd be ridiculous, but of course my thoughts immediately went to Temeraire (which is historical fantasy more than high, but let us not split hairs). I read a perfectly delightful SGA/Temeraire crossover AU a while ago, and I think someone around here should TOTALLY WRITE ONE for dS. Amirite? Anyone? Bueller?
