People are wearing buttons and cheering randomly downtown and talking about world politics on the bus and lamenting the stupidity of gay marriage bans and high-fiving each other and yay.

*feels a little happier*

Irrespective of some setbacks, I think things DO look sunnier today and it's not just the twenty degree weather. :D

I'm very disappointed in California but I'm happy the people in Colorado showed some common sense: Colo. voters soundly defeat anti-abortion measure.

I'm really bummed about the ban on gay marriage today, but still...OBAMA!!! I feel we have hope now which I hadn't had in years. I want the war to end and our country to mend it's fences with needed allies.

Yes. Especially since our new Prez is neither Robotic nor Overlordly. I would pay a lot of money for a front row seat at their first meeting.

Yeah, the Liberals and the Greens did, but obviously it didn't fly. However, given the inextricable union between Canadian and American business, whither you go we shall probably follow.
