For whatever reason, my fandom love at the moment is NCIS. (This is liable to change, even as soon as next week, but for now...) I don't know that many people who write Ziva-centric fic, though, and that was what I was in the mood to read. So, I went over to "the Pit" to see if I could find anything. I don't love it, but I can deal with it when it is an occasional thing (such as in your case, when Tony is using an exasperated tone). What I really dislike is writers (and there aren't a ton of them, but enough) who use it all the time. I swear there was one fic which had it 3 or 4 times in the span of a page. It's worse in the La Femme Nikita fandom, just because Michael has an accent, and some writers feel the need to write it out to demonstrate the accent. Sigh.

I'm okay with some colloquialisms/dialect (such as a Southerner saying y'all occasionally), but most of the time it just irks me. As you said, I know what the character sounds like, so if the dialog and attitude are right, I'll hear it.
