Originally uploaded by Merededeux Mother's Day present for my MIL. She adores this glider swing and currently uses the dining room chair cushions, which she moves back and forth as needed. Now she'll have her own set. I have a piece leftover to cover that table, which I'm debating whether or not will be a good idea. I think it's too much (there's another swing across from the table). It's not finished - I have to square up the padding and hand sew the side shut.

This is my first project with anything other than plain woven cotton - it's heavier outdoors material. I used nylon thread which is thicker and stiffer than dental floss but pretty easy to use. My own pattern, simply a six-sided box in which I stuffed a one inch foam pad.

ETA: I have to add - to get this picture, the girls and I took the van (yes, all of 1/32 of a mile) to her house while she was gone. I didn't want her catching us walking with the cushions. I pulled as close to the front porch as I could, left the door open, raced to put the cushions there, took a quick picture and had them back in the van in 15 seconds. They thought this was hilarious and were yelling "GO! GO!" when we left even though she still wasn't home.
