So I am here! I got here the evening of October 29th. There is so much for me to say, but I am going to try and keep it short.
1. My flight was very long. I flew out at 6:50AM on October 28th from Detroit. Landed in Atlanta. Then I flew from Atlanta straight to Seoul in Korea! 18 hours on a plane...ugh. I flew Korean Air, and it was the nicest airlines I have ever been on. They feed you constantly. You get to watch as many movies as you want on your own personal screen. Plus the flight attendants are gorgeous. I left that flight looking like a hot mess. They looked like they just showered and were off to work.
2. I am semi-vegetarian now. Did I write about this already? I have been chicken, pork, and red meat free for over 3 weeeks. I doubt I have lost any weight or anything because I've been eating too many carbs and sugars. It is soooo hard to do in Korea. ALL THEY DO IS EAT MEAT. But the thought of eating chicken actually makes me ill. I never thought I would say that.
3. I arrived at 7pm on Wednesday and the following morning at 9AM I started my 1st day of work. Rehearsal for the show I am in was the first thing. The show is called SNOW DAY. I play a 10 year old tomboy who is hopelessly in love with her best friend's brother. It is super cute. We have already blocked the whole show. We are off book, and are starting to learn the choreography.
4. It was very hard for me to adjust to the time change. We are now 14 hours ahead of Eastern Standard Time (after daylight savings time). I didn't sleep through the night for a week. On Sunday, I went to bed at 8pm and did not wake up till 9:30AM the next day. Except that I woke up every 1 to 2 hours the whole night. Jetlag really set in on Saturday and Sunday.
5. Part of the reason my jetlag was so bad last weekend was because I went out for Halloween. Over half of the teachers went into Seoul for what they call club night. We bar and club hop all over. We saw bands. Well I only saw one for like 15 minutes, but I spent a couple of hours dancing the night away. My costume was way lame. I borrowed this pink wig from the costume shop so I decided to be Britney Spears. I had this Tina Turner wig that I made into my dog. I put it in my Coach purse! hahaha. Seoul was crazy. The drivers do not care if they drive on the sidewalks. They actually get mad at you if you are in their way!! There were young people all over the place. No one was really dressed up except us Westerners. I had 3 drinks and was gone. I do not really drink anymore, so it hits me very fast.
6. We only get 3 channels in English. One is OnStyle, some crime scene station (yeah for law & order, House, and CSI), and animal planet. I miss Entourage, Degrassi, LOST, abc.com, HOw I Met Your MOther, etc!!
Got to go, board game night at Alena's. I miss you all.
