Hello! so emh, dropping in here with a specific question, it has nothing(or maybe very little) to do with kids and this is probably going to sound a little crazy, but I thought since you are a very active member of the LGBT community, maybe you could help me with this.

So, here's the thing, my friends have 'developed' a new habit since the start of the week. Somehow, apparently, they've taken up to calling GAY! at everything, including each other and not in a particularly nice way. It's a bit mocking, everything that's stupid, everyone amongst them who does something a little dumb gets the word GAY slung towards them. It bothers me a lot, I know at least one of them has a gay relative and the others have never shown any homophobic tendencies.

Mostly though, I'm embarrassed and angry at them for it, while all the while they just go "nahhh, it's fine, we don't mean it, we only say it to each other and what are you overreacting about, you're straight." So, here's my question, am I right in thinking that it DOES bother people or am I overreacting like they say? How can I explain to them that even though I'm not gay I'm absolutely pissed off about these sort of things, because thát's how they show themselves to the outside world, as people who perceive gay as an insult and that they might influence little kids that way(oh, look there are kids)? it's just, pfff, should I leave it alone and just let it happen or should I keep complaining to them about it.

Sooo, basically I'm asking you because you are involved in these subjects and because I honestly can bring myself to ask my uncle XD.
