Summary: It was a word Jack had used; one that seemed to sum up Ianto’s life thus far.
The Appearance or Semblance of Truth
Verisimilitude.
It was a word Jack had used.
Ianto had barely heard it, clutching his knees and petulantly refusing to engage in conversation.
After he’d left, however, Ianto had run to the dictionary, rifling through the pages until he found that elusive word.
The appearance or semblance of truth.
He remembered how Lisa had screamed with pain, the words tumbling from her lips convincingly enough to persuade him that she was really still in there.
It was a lie: falsehood wearing the comforting mask of truth.
Verisimilitude.
Like every time they asked how he was, and he replied:
“I’m fine.”
