Reasons Why I Am Ashamed To Be A Human Being
The pictures in the Daily Mirror today of a gay couple in Malawi, who were arrested during their own engagement party, being transported away to serve 14 years in prison each. Tiwonge Chimbalanga, 20, and Steven Monjeza, 26, are depicted being carted away, handcuffed together, on the back of an open top truck, surrounded by jeering, laughing, smiling crowds.
The judge said "I will give you a scaring sentence so the public is protected from people like you, so we're not tempted to emulate this horrendous example."
I'm not even going to comment or pass judgement, because I think you all know what my reaction was, and I think my title for this entry summed it up in a way my ramblings and rantings never could.
