And even on a cloudy day, at the end the sun breaks through

Long day: I had training from 9:00am to 3:00pm, then I taught two classes including the quiz lesson from hell. Whose genius idea was it to include a quiz and a super complicated writing activity in the same lesson? Clearly someone who's never actually tried it. The students needed at least twice the time they were allotted to finish the quiz, which made me feel like a jerk because I had to insist on collecting quizzes with whole chunks missing, and then we still didn't have nearly enough time to do the writing activity so nothing got done well and everybody felt frustrated.

I didn't even dare look at grading the quizzes tonight. I'll face them tomorrow. I'm so tired that everything hurts.

But! When I got home, there was a package waiting for me from kleinetiger! Full of glorious, glorious, homestyle goodies!

MY CHIPS. :)))))))

And OREOS. Julia, you're exactly right, they do have Oreos here but they just aren't the same! One English girl I know got hooked on them while she was here (did you know they don't have Oreos in England??), and I was kind of horrified: like, my god, she thinks these are what they're supposed to taste like. She has no idea!

THIS IS FREAKING AMAZING:

Also!

I actually cried a little. Everyone who contributed to this package: thank you so much. Y'all are rock stars and guitar heroes. Julia, thanks for your letter! You completely made my day. It's like Christmas and my birthday all rolled into one! ksl;ghg;lsfhgggg♥

my friends are the best
