Dear Diary,
This has been a really weird week. First my cousin telling me about what happened with her boyfriend, which was kind of depressing. But yesterday, Cindy Diehl had something even more depressing. At lunch she told me that her parents are getting a divorce. Her mom had found out that her dad was cheating on her. It’s hard to imagine Cindy’s dad doing that. He’s a really nice guy. I used to think he was cute, but that seems weird now.
Anyway, Cindy came over after school today-she actually just left. She said she didn’t want to be at home anymore because her mom was always either crying or really angry and yelling. I don’t know why she would cry at all. I’d just be so mad!
While Cindy was here, she talked about her dad a lot. She said he had started acting nicer a few months ago. It was at about the same time that he started being gone some nights. Cindy’s mom said he was working, but Cindy figured that must have been when he was with his girlfriend. Cindy said he had even started being nicer to her mom, sort of like he was being more polite. Cindy said it was probably out of guilt.
I feel bad for Cindy. I think I would hate my dad forever if he did that to my mom.
