Write about small scrapes and bruises.
When Alexander returned home from his day of fighting, he started into a familiar routine. Shower, sanitize and bandage any leftover injuries, eat supper with his mom, and study until he was too tired. That night, though, his entire body felt different. He was in almost no pain as he took his shower. The hot water didn't make his back sting in places he didn't know he was injured, and he didn’t find it difficult to lift his arms. After the shower, when he looked at himself in the mirror for wounds to take care of, he saw nothing.
Nothing? He looked more carefully, feeling areas that were most commonly injured. He pushed on muscles that he were used to being bruised from diving to the ground, falling on his butt, or whatever else he might do during the course of training.
He felt and he saw nothing. No scrapes, no bruises, nothing. He knew he had been injured a number of times that day. Lena had healed him after each time, but he knew from experience that wounds were rarely fully healed by even a high-ranking priest. Lena wasn't even officially a priest yet; she was only an apprentice. She may have been very close to full membership in the Priest Guild, but that didn't explain how she could have healed him better than anyone else he had ever worked with.
At least he seemed to have found the best partner to train with, and he wondered how he had gotten so lucky.
