Chapter Three-Just Listen

"So yeah, then he went ahead and told me he only took me because his publicist suggested it! Can you belive him?!" I complained to Jake while I took someone's order. The customer seemed kind of bothered by how frustrated I was getting while talking about Garrett, but do you think I cared?

"Well maybe he didn't mean it like he said it?" Jake suggested.

I sighed, "That's what he said. But how else could he have meant it?"

"I don't know, why don't you ask him?" He gestured towards the door where Garrett walked in.

"Are you fucking kidding me? I ended up pushing his ass on the ground and he still comes back?" I groaned.

Jake started laughing, "You're strong enough to push a six foot whatever guy on the ground?!"

"When I'm pissed I am!" I laughed.

Garrett was next inline. "Jake, do the next orders." I requested. He looked over and nodded, then took the register.

I began making the drinks that Jake was yet too. A few seconds later I heard comotion coming from the counter. I turned around and saw Garrett yelling at Jake. "Listen, I just need to talk to her for a minute!" Garrett yelled.

Jake shook his head, "I'm sorry, she doesn't wanna talk to you."

"My fucking God, PLEASE!" He yelled.

I sighed and walked over to the counter. "Stay the fuck away!" I told him.

"I can't." Garrett replied.

"Break?" I asked Jaked. He looked at me unsure, he was always protective of me, but then he nodded reluctantly.

I went around the counter and grabbed Garrett's arm then sat him in a seat and I sat on the otherside.

"Listen to me," I calmly and quietly intstructed, "I don't want anything to do with you. At all! I don't care what kind of excuses you make up, what you claim you meant, I don't care! Just leave me alone." I looked him straight in the eye the whole time to let him know I was serious.

"I can't just walk away after something like that happened, I have to explain myself, just let me explain." He begged.

"Go ahead."

"I know I seemed like a total asshole all night, but it wasn't how it was supposed to be. Being a rising star- well trying to be a rising star- you have to get on camera and make yourself noticed, and that's what I wanted to do. And I know I shouldn't have made you go infront of the photographers if you didn't want to, and I'm sorry. And yes my publicist did suggest taking an unknown face, but thats not why I took you. I took you because I wanted to take you." He had a look of honest in his eyes, but I still didn't trust him.

I just shrugged in response.

"Let me make it up to you."

"No thanks." I said getting up to leave but he stopped me.

"Come to my house tonight, I'm having some friends over."

"No thanks." I simply said again.

"Think about it." He left a piece of paper with his address on the table and walked out. I took it, just incase one of my friends wanted to crash the place.

I went back behind the counter. "What happened?" Jake asked while making drinks and ordering.

"He apologized and invited me to hang out with him and his friends." I replied messing with the piece of paper in my hand.

"Going?" He asked.

I shrugged, "I dont know.. do you think I should?"

"Why not? Give em another shot."

"Will you go with me?" I asked.

He laughed slightly, "No no no... celebrities, not my thing."

I gave him a sad look, "Pleeeeease?"

He just gave me a look, "You buy me dinner then."

"Agreed!" I grinned happily.
