RIP Buddy

Sep 22, 2007 13:06

It is with great sadness that I inform you of the passing of one of the gods' greatest creatures. On Tuesday, September 18th, my Buddy left this world and moved on to the next. He was in constant pain and while he still loved running around with his friends, his body could no longer keep up with him. So my mother made the very difficult decision to end his pain and suffering.

For most who knew him, he was great and friendly and always willing to play. For some he was the protector of my home (though sometimes his intentions were slightly misplaced, they were always pure). He loved to play with his empty pop bottles, and enjoyed sunbathing on snowbanks in the winter and lying in the dirt to keep cool in the summer.

He was always up for a good ear or tummy rub and had an endless supply of drool hanging from his happy face. He was always clear with his intentions, either nuzzling you for affection or burping in your face to say "thanks for dinner".

Though this loss leaves me with a weight on my heart and a hole in my life, I know he is better off and happy wherever he is. He knew what was coming and accepted it graciously giving us the best last day he possibly could have.

To quote Bart Simpson: "No kid wants to outlive their pet."

I'll miss you Buddy, my Monster, my Bou-Bou, my Old Man. You have certainly left your mark in this world and in my heart.

Napping in a sunbeam at his favourite place, the cottage in Ste. Aurelie.

Buddy with some of his people (V.T. and myself).

His freckles.

Two great friends napping and snuggling.

Enjoying the scenery and the smells on the car ride back from the cottage.
