I promise that I will post a summary of the last month since I last posted but today different thought. I know I have lost weight recently because several of my skirts and dresses don't fit anymore. Yet I am finding myself struggling with self image issues. I wonder if I will get over it? Be comfortable in my own skin?

Drum roll please: today I used my sewing machine! Super exciting for me. I bought it too many months ago and it has been set up for about a month, perhaps two, and yet I have only managed to start playing on it today. Grrness on life. Or at least figuring out what to do with ones life. I have the predicament that I really enjoy my job but I tend to feel that it does not use my abilities to their full potential. I have just finished reading Behind the Lines by Andrew Carroll. I whole-heartily recommend it. Carroll has collected letters from every war and police action the United States has fought /participated in since the Revolutionary War to present (though there is mention of, and excerpts from letters from the French and  Indian War). Yesterday was a long day of work. It didn't help that on my second to last flight of the day I had a very unhappy customer who took it out on me. I hate it when that happens. Why is it on days that I really want to and should get up at a decent hour, I never do. Only for work and church am I able to get up in time, and I am ashamed to say that I am often a few minutes late for church. I had my hair cut today. I have been thinking about doing it for a long time and just finally decided to have it done since I had to go to a salon to buy some hair gel anyway. I wanted it to be just above the collar (maybe half an inch or so) and layered around the face to frame my face. It is now above my chin and not layered. It feels very short ( Read more... )
