I have a secret. I like the smell of books, trading cards, periodicals, and other works in print. I enjoy sniffing them frequently. It all started with Magic the Gathering trading cards: in particular, the Fallen Empires set. It had a reek to rival Limburger cheese, but was so fun! It was me first expansion to 4th edition (which I had started playing in 1995 or 96 or so. Wow, so LONG ago! Ever since then, I noticed the different expansions all had different smells to them. Then I noticed it with books too. Every book had a slightly different smell. Even booklets and manuals sometimes remind me of long ago and far away experiences.
I also think freshly opened plastic toys are great to smell.
Am I weird, or just a little crazy. Regardless, I want to write my novel. I have so many ideas now that I got a little time into it. At work, I wrote down character ideas. The really strict thing about it is I can't name anyone yet. That's not important. Their personalities, deeds, and conditions make up the characters. Their names will come much, Much later. Just think: if Harry Potter were named "Hildalgo Burnice." Then how much would you enjoy it? "Oo! Look at Professor Grothbell Dongledump headmastering over Smottingwipes School For Witchcraft And Wizardry." It just doesn't make sense! "Hildalgo Burnice and the Chamberpot of Treetrunks" is not that interesting to the general public (however, I WOULD SO BUY THAT BOOK!!!).
