Much as Dr. Who in one of the new episodes felt, I feel too the way of the universe, or more specifically, the way of analog electricity, heat, digital bits, and data as it works its way from our fingers and mouseclicks to our monitors and then to our eyes, eers, and online journals ( Read more... )

I love the way you look at the world. I don't understand it sometimes, but its quite amusing. :0)

You have no idea how complicated I see the world. What floors me is seeing how nicely things work. I can see the data from dial-up modems being sent across cheaply patched-together phone lines and DSL barely being able to reach a person's house. I can't believe that I can take parts for a computer, assemble them, and have it work! Our world is very blessed indeed.

I sometimes consider myself a Luddite, the reason being that I think technology should serve mankind and not make our lives over-complicated or fry our brains with information overload. I am good with technology, but unlike some I don't relish things like telephones that can take pictures, video, cook my breakfast and tell me where I should be at a certain time. I consider that sort of thing a "fad" in a way, because it is usually the young that adopt these things first. I don't mind taking more than one device with me if it is more adept at a task than something that is a jack of all trades but a master of none.

Hope you had a good Christmas.

Christmas went well. I also feel that technology shouldn't overcompicate things. I still see its effects everywhere though... :(
