Another Short Story + $$$ CONTEST! $$$

I have a new story. It has a very hidden meaning that only about 2-3 people in the world will fully realize. If you think you have an idea, post it. The closest person to the "right" answer (as in the answer I'm thinking of, not a different answer that happens to also be right) will get a prize a zany picture of yours truly to be used for Desktop wallpaper or photoshopping purposes. If you win and edit the picture, please post it in this Journal entry!

As Yuki_snowcraft likes to say, "Let the begin!"

L. Bint had been in the Narnia Hills subdivision nearly all his adult life, since moving there when he was a very little boy. He didn't remember his childhood much, but knew he was originally from Philidelphia and that when his family moved, he was put up for adoption, and through a fortuitous chain of events, was able to find himself a very nice family to adopt him. They taught him many things, and paid for him to go to college, which led to him getting a decent job in Computer Networking, and ultimately, his new house.

When he first moved in, there was an old man named Excelsior who lived near him. Excelsior kept pretty quiet and stayed indoors most of the time. The only time he and Excelsior and L. Bint talked, Excelsior had a stroke and died. That made L. Bint very sad.

Excelsior had a son, named Mephisto, who was quite active in the community, building houses and working with real estate agents, but suffered health problems and had to have a nurse come every day or so to check on his health. Mephisto lived alone, and appreciated any company he could get. He chatted online with his friends often. He also played online games, but had a hard time due to his health problems. Eventually, Mephisto had heart by-pass surgery done that vastly increased his bloodflow to his extremities, and was able to work easier.

In this part of Narnia Hills, Excelsior, Mephisto, and L. Bint were the first three houses built there. After Excelsior passed away, he was buried in a new cemetary located next to L. Bint's house. This made L. Bint somewhat uncomfortable, but he managed to avoid walking near it at night, so it wasn't too bad... most of the time. Since there were not too many cemetaries in the area, many people in the same county were buried here as well. Pretty soon, all L. Bint could see from his backyard window were gravestones.

As all subdivisions do, Narnia Hills grew. The Bavarians, Laharl and Raenef Yuki, and several other families moved in. Mr. and Mrs Bavarian oftentimes fought, which was not good for Mr. Bavarian's health. He was a middle-aged man who happened to get rich quickly due to a venture capital investment he made when he was 40. Mrs. Bavarian, on the other hand, was 26 years old and had never worked a day in her life. She had 2 ex husbands, both of which had dissapeared under "mysterious circumstances." Everyone suspected her to be a golddigger and that she had poisoned Mr. Bavarian, because he had to be put in a nursing home after a particularly nasty fight. After that, the attractive Mrs. Bavarian, with no shame whatsoever, began seeing other men quite frequently while her husband drooled into a tube in a long-term-care facility. She had dozens of "handy-men" come to her house to "fix things" that she was incapable of doing on her own. Although everyone knew what was happening, no one said anything to her about it.

As also happens in subdivisions, the newer homes in Narnia Hills tended to be bigger and more extravagent than the older houses. The largest and by far most expensive home belonged to a very attractive man who only went by "Beast." Beast built his "mansion" using the choicest parts and hiring 3 different construction companies to complete it. He had two seperate houses joined together to form a connected palace, taking up twice the real-estate of any other property. The city had to install a whole new power-switching station just to feed the subdivision after he arrived. Beast was the kind of man who got things done just the way he wanted - and he had the money to back it up.

As for the details of what Beast did, much of it remained a mystery. L. Bint knew something was suspicious when he saw Beast and Mrs. Bavarian go out to lunch almost every day for a week, during which they exchanged duffelbags full of either drugs or money. L. Bint would have contacted the authorities, but he feared that if he did, Mrs. Bavarian and Beast would make him dissapar. So instead, he just smiled and said "hi" whenever he met either of them on the street.

Mephisto, however, was not so quiet about it. He had a tendency to run his mouth off whenever he felt like it. He spoke his mind far too often in the wrong situations. He eventually confronted Beast and Mrs. Bavarian about their lack of fidelity. Mrs. Bavarian began crying and telling Mephisto to stop, but Mephisto didn't back down. Beast then punched Mephisto in the stomach, kneed him in the head when he doubled over, knocking him to the ground, and pushed his face down into the ground while yanking upward in Mephisto's hair. "You have something to say? I don't wanna hear it. Just shut up and go away. I don't want to ever see you again."

Beast then drug him away into Mephisto's house and no one heard anything for three days. Finally, Mephisto's house was torn down by a wrecking crew and Mrs. Bavarian has a summer house constructed on the site. Mephisto had to move several houses down the street, far away from Beast and Mrs. Bavarian. He doesn't talk anymore, and had to go on welfare after his clients stopped coming to him. Learning from Mephisto's mistakes, L. Bint knew enough not to make waves. After this kind of stunt, it was clear Beast was a mafia boss.

Raenef and Laharl Yuki were two brothers who roommated just down the street from L. Bint, but because they were very competitive in school, they did little but study. Sometimes it would be weeks before anyone saw them outside their home. L. Bint entertained the idea that they weren't really studying and weren't really brothers either, but merely chuckled to himself when he thought about it. Some day, he would take a video camera and record what happened in their house at night, then post it on the Internet for all to see (he'd of course blur out their faces).
