I haven't posted in ages. I don't even know what to write. Fandom update? Fandom update!

Current Fandoms in descending order from Most Into Right Now to Slow Simmer, but Still Important:
Supernatural-The Angst. The supernatural-ness. The family-first, kinda problematic, co-dependent brothers who save the world, #alwayskeepfighting , and all of that ( Read more... )

Hey, meowbooks 8)! *Waves*
I'm very much involved in...one of those fandoms (have been for awhile, actually) namely DW, so I'll start with that. You liked Danny, too, huh? Cool =]! Seems like there's not many of us :[. I'm not heartbroken about him, exactly, but it's a shame Moffat & company decided to write him out, as he could have been a good addition to the team. But oh well. What do/did you think of the new Doctor? I thought it would take me a little while to adjust to him, but I was convinced by Capaldi from his first line in the S8 premiere, and I already love him 8]. I've written a number of near-essay length defenses of Twelve on the forum I'm a member of :D. Definitely looking forward to the upcoming season, especially since we're going to see Missy/The Master again (What did you think of her, BTW? I really liked her, and squeed big time when her identity was revealed at the end of "Dark Water", even though I'd long suspected that's who she was.) 8).

Ah, what do you think of Grimm and Bones so far 8]? Those are big favorites of mine, too, though I've fallen rather behind on the latter, which is annoying, as the season currently airing is the last one. I like Broadchurch (The first season actually reminded me how great an actor David Tennant is. I'd kind of forgotten, as except for "Day Of The Doctor", I haven't really seen much of him on television since he left DW.) and Game Of Thrones, too, but like you, I'm not really involved in the fandoms for either (though I've finally begun reading the books the latter is based on; I've only read the
first one, but I liked it). I quite like Orphan Black and Person Of Interest, too, but again, no
involvement in the fandom for either one.

I notice POTC isn't in your list. Have you gone off it a bit (I haven't participated in it in ages. A while ago, I moved onto the fandoms for Primeval, Joss Whedon's Angel, Being Human (the original), True Blood (basically, the fandoms for all my fave vampire/supernatural creatures shows), and Doctor Who. Now I spend most of my free time doing fannish stuff (mostly fanfic writing) for DW, so I've jumped around a lot, fandom-wise, the past couple of years or so :P.), or...?

HI.
Yeah, I thought Danny's dynamic was refreshing. He totally appreciated Clara for who she was, but he wasn't afraid of calling her or the Doctor on things.

The first episode with 12 sold me on him, too. It's so different from 9,10,11, but I love that we're able to see this side of him.
I enjoy how Missy is bonkers but it's more grounded than Simm's version in a strange way. And hey, the Doctor's foil is a woman and he pretty much didn't care about the Master's genderfluidity change.

Grimm is going in some interesting directions, but I'm kinda cringing on the whole Hexenbeist love triangle thing. And I hope Trubel comes back because student-mentor Grimm relationships for the win.

With Bones, I still have gaps because I've been watching reruns on TNT, but I enjoy the fusion of yay-science and the diversity of the interns/not interns anymore. :D And Bones herself is an awesome character who has had tremendous growth.

PotC is still very dear to me. I hope DMTNT is a winner, but yeah I've kinda fallen off the map with that one.

Being Human and True Blood should totally be on this list too. Never got into American version of Being Human either.True Blood went a little crazy in the last seasons, but the first few were interesting and dynamic.
