RIT.

I'm seriously loving it here. Classes haven't started yet, so that might be it. People seem to be really cool. My roommate is SO sweet and nice and great. She's in ROTC, so she's joining the Marines when she graduates. I hope she doesn't die cuz that'd suck. There are Phil and Jason, who are down and across the hall. There's Yip and Scot, who are ex-boyfriends and have a badass room. Yip was actually redecorating our room and we're changing shit up tomorrow to get more space, which will be nice. I want a cool setup with comfy chairs. Sounds good. Our room is RIGHT across from the lounge, so we have access to the big TV, DVD player and VCR. Things are going somewhat well...

Except for the fact that the night before move-in, I was feeling shitty and since it was late, and no doctor's offices were open, I had to go to the hospital. Bad case of strep. Penicillan shot. Moved in the next day and still felt like shit. That same night, went back to the hospital at 4:30AM. Got more medicine, which I have to take right now. My throat actually got worse. So I've been dealing, somehow. I just hope it gets better soon.

Stuff on campus - wow. There is so much shit, it's awesome. There's pool hall/air hockey/video game place in the tunnels underground (all the dorms are connected and have stuff in them so you can go and still see people during the winter) and it's free. It's call Ritchie's. Then there's the Corner Store, which is like 7-11, right under my dorm, as well as the post office. Then there's Sol's, which is like a pharmacy and has condoms, lube, a pizza shop, a place to sit, board games, etc. Outside of the tunnels, there is an AMAZING pool. Holy shit. It's got the Olympic size pool with a big diving board and then the small diving boards on the other side. Then there's a lazy river (!!!) with a fountain. Then there's a hot tub, and smaller pools. INSANE. There's also an ice skating rink on campus, which was fucking AWESOME. There is also rock climbing, which I've yet to do. Today there were velcro suits which you put on and throw yourself at an inflatable velcro wall, which was cool too. (Also today in orientation stuff, we played Red Rover and I kicked ass. I got closelined and broke the chain ANYWAY with my neck. And this guy came running over to my roommate and I and we didn't let him break it. He was big too! Then the whole team came running at us and knocked us all to the ground but I didn't let go of the chain! What's good!?) There are too many cool things to do on campus, so didn't expect it. There is going to be a Quizno's and there's a Ben and Jerry's on campus too, which is great. There's a TON of sports teams on campus and I'm probably going to join fencing. There's just so much to do. My roommate and I are thinking of starting up gymnastics, cuz the school gives you $500 to start with. Our RA, Steve, suggested we make a "How to Make Your Room Cooler" club and take the $500 to experiment with making your room cooler. OH, I ALMOST FORGOT! There's the sports center, call the RITz ESPN sports zone, and they have big TVs, a bar, pool tables, darts, and food and shit. It's like Applebee's but right on campus, and they take the meal plan, as does EVERYTHING on campus, which is awesome. I hear the food there is really good and it's a great atmosphere. Really, you guys need to at least come here and tour the campus. It's worth it. Well, before the snow covers it all up, lol.

We also made friends with upperclassmen. They all have significant others so it won't get awkward. GOOD. There's Ryan, Stephen, Kristen, Morgan, Collin (who moves in tomorrow) and Bryan. Kristen and Bryan are dating. Ryan, Stephen, Morgan, and Collin live in an on-campus apartment. We hung out there last night and had some drinks, listened to some music, and talked a LOT about photo with some of the freshmen that they invited from Photohouse (my floor). Kristen also lives in Photohouse, but she'll probably be at Bryan's so often that it's almost like she's not here. And most, if not all, of them have cars, so that's realllllly cool. I feel bad mooching, but I might have to. And they were freshmen too (most of them last year), so I'm sure they understand. Today we hung out with Stephen and Ryan and they showed us this place that sells "garbage plates." It's burgers, cheese, macaroni salad, hash browns, hot sauce, ketchup, mustard, onions, grease, and some other shit, thrown together and you eat it. It looked fucking gross as hell but everyone who ate it, loved it. I didn't have any being a vegetarian and all, but the place felt like home. It looked like a pizza place with guys behind the counter who are angry and look like they just got out of jail. I guess that's what home is to me - big men who cook, seem angry, and have recently been released (/escaped) from prison.

So I'm starting to get slowly accustomed to being here, but I still miss people back home. All in all, I think you all should just transfer here next year. Or hell, leave your school after this semester and come. Seriously, you probably won't regret it except for the snow (cuz I've heard from many people that it sucks, and I'm sure it does), but if you're up at a SUNY upstate anyway, might as well come here and have fun shit to do while you're at it. I rate RIT pretty high up there, but then again, I haven't gotten to classes yet. As far as stuff to do on campus, the people, and what it's got to offer in terms of majors and experience and learning goes, it's pretty good.

Sorry for the long entry, but I had to update about college! Hope everyone else is having a good time! MISS YOU GUYS!
