Because I have such acres of spare time, and particularly need to spend more of that time at the computer.

Well, I'd rather know about fantastic stuff and not have time to read it than not know it exists at all.

I don't subscribe to much at the moment - a few friends-and-relations, some originally-infertility-now,-happily,-parenting-post- ( Read more... )

oh, none of my stuff comes under any of those! wah!

http://slacktivist.typepad.com/slacktivist/
(decent Christian commentary, which I discovered following links about the Left Behind series. Quote: "British evangelicals have even been known to drink beer." Unfortunately posts anywhere between once and six times a week, and gets literally hundreds of comments.)

(actually no, I tell a lie. This is bang on your first one. Ta-da! US-based I'm afraid. And also posts lots, for long stretches daily, though not so many comments! I'd be interested to see what you think of this bisexual atheist feminist writer.)

And http://2spb.blogspot.com/ - entitled "No Longer Quivering" - might *just* fit under "alternative parenting"... on the "awful warning" side ;-)

I like the current entry for Greta Christina - will browse properly when I have more time. The Qvivering one is kind of entertaining. Not so struck on the slacktivist one on a quick skim, but will revisit when less hurried. Thanks!

rhodri has mostly moved over to Twitter except for his newspaper columns, but his back catalogue is worth an evening's browsing.

I am so far resisting the lure of FaceBook. LJ is quite enough of a time sink!

I only joined FB for Lexulous, but it turns out to be a way of keeping in touch with a few people from my old work, and I sometimes post stuff too light even for LJ, let alone News.

Fair enough!

I think I've read sexgeek before - some of it seems very familiar. Good stuff, thanks.

I've added the others too. I do periodically check your blog. It hadn't occurred to me that I could set up a feed to it *feels foolish*

http://todgertalk.blogspot.com/ - not so good recently as one of the contributors has been ill, but usually a reliable source of good laughs and good advice about sex.

Also whatever you can get hold of by Victoria Lehmann. I heard her speak today, she's an absolute bloody star AND she specialises in sex and older people AND she's based in the SE (Brighton area). You would love her.

Off the top of my head: marnanel - religion, poly parenting, linguistics, some programming stuff (zie's good at flagging it), gender, poetry, and to boot zie's an Englishperson in the US, so enjoy. :)
