LB (forlornly): I wish it could be Christmas again
Me (sympathetically but not paying full attention): Aww, poppet, you did have a lovely time, didn't you. But Christmas will come round again next winter. I know it's a long time to wait but ... [notices LB's expression:]
LB: *astonished and delighted boggle*
Me (laughing): Ah, did you not know that there's a Christmas every year?
LB (grinning ecstatically): No! Now I'm happy. [dances round the room, grinning]
It's not often you get to make someone that happy with so little effort and cost to yourself.
