Presumably, after today, we will be one step closer to "settled" in Oakland, California.
I'm taking a trip to the Department of Motor Vehicles today to follow-up with registering our vehicle for Californian license plates. This might not seem like much to most people, but it has taken two months to get to this place. An auto accident in Michigan, which required that we replace our driver's side doors, removed one of the VIN numbers from the vehicle. It turns out that, in the state of California, the DMV requires that two VIN numbers be verified before a car can be registered. Needless to say, we've been given the run-around regarding our car. I'm hopeful that, after today, we will be done with the DMV for a while.
And I'm also hopeful that they will allow me to keep my Michigan license plate. I guess we'll see.
