Excuse me while I rage a little...

I'm more or less upstairs on the net because what was on local news tv was disgusting and I couldn't sit through it. Basically this preacher from California has come from Northern Ireland in promoting his book- claiming to be a cured homosexual and that he can help homosexuals be cured that it's a lifestyle choice etc etc. and all that same bullshit.

I did see some protestors and while I didn't hear the full story I can't help but think he's also being a sneaky little toad using N.Ireland to test the UK waters in general. We're after all the most religious part of the UK as well as having a reputation for being idiotic and nuts about stupid things so really if he can't make it here- Great Britain with 'heaven' forbid more secular and mixed England (which contains 50 of the 60 million people of the UK) in general is probably a no go.

Just general BS as usual in these cases. Sexuality can, for some people in their life, be fluid and at times change (or at least perceptions of what your sexuality precisely is) but it's not something which can ever be forced.

Whatever BS reason he gave for coming to Northern Ireland (less than 2 million people here- and despite religious freaks there were still protests against him- yay!) I also have to ask in all his talk about 'cures' even if homosexuality WAS a choice (which is bull)- why couldn't it be considered a perfectly valid one?

I mean yes it's not something you can choose at all but even if it were why would it be a 'bad' one?

Oh yeah because a certain religious book apparently tells you to so, yet ignoring the fact that it tells you countless other rules no-one follows anymore on top of the fact the only NT person to state this was Paul, who let's face it is pretty much responsible for a large proportion the contradictions in the NT- to other books he supposedly wrote -himself-! He can't get his own writings and morals staright at all and even as a christian in the past Paul baffled me at points for this reason. Not to mention there's the whole thing about him claming to be higher than angels. The little egotistical turd.

Sexuality may not be a choice, but even if it was, 'choosing' to be gay can not and should not be considered morally 'wrong' or some how 'less' than hetrosexuality. I can imagine that if someone could make the choice they might choose the latter but for one reason only- because society and people like this guy exist as well as things which are far far worse.

That beiong gay is disgusting or wrong is a viewpoint which cannot and should not ever be tolerated.

glbqt, wtf is this?!, religion
