Hello everyone, I've been using a lunette small for some months now and it does its job pretty well, but there's a problem.
Sometimes, a couple of minutes to an hour after I first insert the cup (after I've been moving around a while) I get a sharp pain when the cup pops open/lets out an air bubble. That's the explanation I've seen people give. Most of the time I shrug it off and go on my way but yesterday after that happened I got a sharp pain in the left side of my pelvis and just felt pretty nauseous. I took the cup out and decided to sleep with a pad but the sharp pain wouldn't go away throughout the night. I took painkillers and a hot water bottle and the pain lessened a lot but I can still feel it's there and moving is a bit uncomfortable.
I will go do a check up at a gynecologist when I can but I wanted to ask if anyone has had a similar experience? I don't know if the "air bubble" could have somehow moved through my cervix and is causing problems there? I don't even know if that's possible. It could be unrelated menstrual pain that started at the same time (I've felt it once before but I can't remember if I had my menstrual cup in there or not)
I'm sorry if it's getting rambly but I really like using a menstrual cup and I'm hoping it's not damaging me. Please let me know if you've had a similar experience, I couldn't find anything like this on the forums.
