I recently bought a Mooncup (UK) and have just started using it. I understand it takes a while to get the hang of it, but I'm wondering if I made the right choice and if I should get another type to try.
After reading the advice on here I figured I should try and work out whether my cervix is high or low... So I poked it for the first time ever (well, that felt weird!) I used my middle finger and had to put pretty much the whole finger in... So does that mean my cervix is high, or about average?
I've only inserted and removed my Mooncup a grand total of 3 times. The first time I didn't push it far enough and it was very uncomfortable at the entrance of my vagina. So the next few times I placed it further in. It was more comfortable (I could just about forget about it) but very difficult to remove. I probably trimmed the stem too much the first time around (whoops) and the cup was quite far inside. I just found it really difficult to reach, grip onto and break the seal. When I finally managed to remove it, it definitely hurt on the way out! I have read the advice to bear down and squeeze the cup to break the seal, so I will keep trying that, but I'm wondering if it might be easier if I could find a cup that's more suitable for my body.
I should point out that I have pretty tense vaginal muscles due to vulvodynia (a vulval pain condition). I am sexually active and do light exercise. I have never given birth. For these reasons I chose the smaller Mooncup (size B) and the diameter seems fine.
I have a moderate flow so I don't necessarily need a cup with a big volume. Just whatever is most comfortable and easy to insert and remove. I'm pretty sure I want to try something softer than the Mooncup so it's mostly size advice I need. I'd really appreciate any suggestions! Thanks in advance.
