I know cups work perfectly for a few people right away, but based on my highly scientific survey of reading comments and posts here, that's not usually the case, it can take a few cycles. Speaking to the Diva specifically, I still had trouble with it after several months and went with another cup - a huge part of it is having the right cup for you! I had the same problem as you - I absolutely couldn't make it pop open correctly. Turning the cup inside out seemed to help a bit, but of course it reduces the capacity slightly and makes the bottom smooth, so I don't know if that would help for you.

That said, it sounds like you didn't have any fit or insertion issues with the Keeper, just that the capacity wasn't quite enough for you, or you weren't certain when to change it. I'd try it again for your next cycle and err on the side of emptying it too often - that'll let you see when the cups are full or almost full as well as preventing leaks. If it's still not enough, maybe a large Lunette would be a good option for you? It has great capacity and has ridges at the bottom, so it's relatively easy to remove (I have a small Lunette and am very happy with it).

I don't know if this is an option for you, but for overnight on my heavy days, I've made some cloth-pad underwear with rags as a backup, which works for me but isn't for everyone.

Good luck!

Agreed on all counts. :)

My girlfriend uses cloth pad backup on her heavy days, and it works really well for her.

good advice. this cycle, however, the keeper hasn't been behaving, either, and it's not that it got full too quickly. today, i wore it with a light flow and it was absolutely around my cervix when i put it in, but when i removed it later it was empty and there was blood on my pantiliner. maybe it's too small?
