I spent a fair bit of time this weekend thinking of food. We planned a month of dinners which is not as easy as it sounds. Sunday I made the much loved Chicken Marsala (substituting roasted red peppers for the fungus). I also tried this weird squash/carrot puree and chard. This was my first experience with Chard (red), combining it with pecans, shallots and some crumbled turkey bacon. It has a very odd taste, sort of like corn on the cob smells when you are husking it. I thought I had way too much until I realised how much it shrinks when it's heated. Certainly something I will try again.
Next big kitchen purchase...either a
vacuum sealer thingie or an
ice cream maker. Tough choice.
Other big news...
The move is still on for Monday although I don't see how it will happen. I have started packing up my desk by putting all my toys and action figures away. I will take down all my maps tomorrow.
I think I am getting a cold. I have the sore joints and cottonfill head feeling at any rate. Should make riding my bike Wednesday a truly joyful experience.
