“Unlike the mythical wolf-like creature said to roam the bleak moorland surrounding Newcastle, England, this Werewolf is real,” said Charles van Es. brand director, Newcastle Brown Ale. “Everyone loves a good urban legend, so we’re hoping to take advantage of the werewolf story to sell more beer this fall.”
Just in time for Halloween, there’s a new limited edition beer in town. Newcastle Brown Ale has announced that from August 2012 through November 2012, Newcastle Werewolf will be on U.S. shelves and on tap in select markets.
Brewed with rye malts and offering mellow overtones of slight berry fruit and roasted caramel notes with a lingering deep bite of bitterness from Fuggle and Golding hops, Newcastle Werewolf with an ABV of 4.5 percent and 23.4 IBUs is definitely only for adult role players. This limited edition dual character brew pours “blood” red and ends with a bite.
