So, the one weekend where I needed time to pack and get ready for Rome, I ended up being busy the whole weekend and didn't get anything done! It is once again going to be a last minute packing frenzy, bringing things I won't wear, and forgetting things I need...
Welcome to my world!
Yesterday was spent shopping for many things I didn't actually find, attempting to go to the bank to withdraw cash to take on my trip and get them to change some things on my account, but was the bank open yesterday like it is every Saturday? Of course not! Exceptional closure. Grrr!
I did end up buying a new suitcase though, because I have long lamented the fact that I don't have a good suitcase for a long weekend that can double as hand luggage on a transatlantic flight. So I guess that was a success. Now I just have to pack the silly thing!
The other positive thing is I was able to confirm that my cell phone WILL work in Italy! Yay!
Today, I was talked into taking the niece and nephew out touristing, cause wouldn't want them to get bored you know. So we went to
'Fontaine de Vaucluse'. It is a natural spring that comes straight out of the mountain and is a mystery depth, as even with exploring robots they have not been able to hit the very bottom. It is currently estimated at 308 meters deep. The lady guide at the museum explained they could put the Eieffel Tower in there and have room left over. . It was in fact quite awsome, and I did enjoy it. We didn't even get lost on the itty bitty country roads which are so common in this area. My niece did a great job as navigator.
Here are some more pictures. Unfortunately it took 1 1/2 hours to get there, and the same to get home, so basically took the whole day.
So I am panicking about the trip! AAAHHHH! Plus, am still nervous about the italian thing, and the getting to the hotel alone thing, and the being the last one to arrive thing, and the being the last one to leave thing....basically a lot of things!!!
But it will all be fine. Right?
Got Harry Potter yesterday in the mail, but let niece read it first, as she is much bigger fan. I am on chapter 2...but was tempted away by my pirate books again, so ... will get around to it before Rome I hope, cause it is a tad big to bring on the plane, though I guess it would give me something to do...except I was hoping to have nothing to do and get some writing done...hmmm...
