Birthday Wishes! + other news

In other news, I'm still alive, still lurking around. I have been sucked into a new fandom for about the last 3 months, and the novelty has not worn off yet. And it is another anime fandom. After Gundam Wing, I give you Naruto. And it has inspired some writing...who'd have thought. I may even have something to post in a few weeks (yes, I write SLOWLY).
The Rome trip is creeping up on me, and I'm a bit nervous...I don't speak any italian, and that makes me insecure. It's weird, because I have been to Rome, but it was 20 years ago, and I wasn't traveling alone. I'm sure it will be fine though. I'm looking forward to seeing the girls from last year, and meeting the new ones.
What else? Niece and nephew are here, so more active family type life, but less free time for me, especially on the weekends, when I am supposed to be the good aunt and entertain them! Last weekend I took them to see Harry Potter (in English, so much for their French exposure) and the fireworks (Bastille day on the 14th, but it was a Saturday, and didn't even get a day off work! gumblegrumblegrowl....
Work is still miserable. I really need to start looking for a new job, but I don't have the energy. Sigh. But, in my own defense, I did get an extra month salary at the end of June, and can reasonably hope for one at the end of December as well if last year is anything to go by. That makes a total of 14 months salary, and I'm not sure I could get that kind of money anywhere else...
