Could dreams ever become reality?

I . . I think they could. Given enough time, anything could become a reality.

I had a dream not too long ago. It was about me and you. We were standing on the island's shore, and, well, we said goodbye.

It's not that I didn't want it to end. I just didn't want it to begin. Me and you, we went through so much together. It can't end here, or there, or ever.

Hold me, please.

The tides came in slowly. A soft crunching sound was made as the young man walked along the sands, tears in his eyes. His right hand twitched every so often with nervousness, index finger outstretched as if pointing towards something important. But there was nothing important left on this island. She had left so long ago, what felt like years. Had it been years? Or had it only been a few hours, elongated by his crippling depression? He looked up, expecting to see something in his path, a rock, a tree, a ruined boat, but there was only another mile of sand. He sighed, smoothing out the wrinkles in his clothing absentmindedly. So he continued to walk for another mile. Then he stopped. Behind him, the tides crashed against themselves, the raw power of the sea overpowering his depression for a moment. But, like him, the sea seemed to be sad, for the tides soon died down and nothing was left except the sound of his own sobbing.

I don't want you to cry.

These six words echoed within his mind so loudly that he was afraid his head might burst, his hands shot up to grab his hair and he shouted in sheer agony. Falling on one knee, the cries of depression were replaced instead with shouts of frustration. His fist continuously pounded the sands, so much so that they started to bleed, but he paid no attention to it. To the pain, or the blood, or the young lady standing in the dead tides not too far from him. She had an expression of horror and sympathy on her face, tears also gathering in her eyes. She watched as he continued to pound the sands with both fists now. She watched at this boy, no, this man whom she had come to know and love, was being torn apart at the seams. She loved him for his brown, unruly hair. She loved him for his selflessness. She loved him because of everything they went through together. She loved him for him. So then why did she hate him right now?

"Hello, Sora."

Midway through the next pound, Sora stopped and looked up at the young woman walking towards him. The tears in his oceanic eyes stopped gathering, the grimace was replaced with a smile and he stood, his arms open, lips parting. But no words came out. Behind him, the tides began to crash against each other again. The moon hung in the sky, providing the perfect moonlit night for the couple below.

Hello again, my dearlybeloved.
