Gaming
First of all, i *love* role-playing games... and i don't mean the "gaurd disciplining sexy women prisoner" style role-playing (though that's also kickass). my favorite games are Vampire: The Masquerade/The Requiem, 8th Tribe, and occasionally D&D, for the action-movie factor.
my point here isn't to list My Fav Color, but give context to my point. In a RPG, there are a few players (called PCs for Player-Characters), who are in control of one character each, and a Game Master (Dungeon Master, Storyteller, whatever) who is in charge of all the supporting characters, the setting, the theme/s, the mood/s, hell - everything to the goddamn background music.
Think of a movie. he's everything but the goddamn actors - actually, he's everything but a few of the actors. he's also the extras, the bit-players, the villian, the love interest, fucking everything.
i'm usually the Storyteller. I love writing a story, building an enviroment, populating it with interesting 3D characters, and creating a cause that'll have one effect after another. Then, you through in a few mooks with no idea what's going on, and are totally unequiped to deal with it if they *do* find out... it's beautiful. like building a beautiful maze, filling it with huge rats, then letting in a bloody churchmouse.
MY POINT is that i'm being attacked by storyteller ADD right now. i have a good idea for a vampire story that starts in Venice in the 15th century & ends in LA around the time of the not-Watts riots (sht, what were they called?); another idea involves taking my ONI shit (which is much, *much* more detailed then i've put on the journal,) but on Malaysia instead of N. America, and letting the PCs run wild, effectively trying to "break" my world - if it's horribly unbalanced, about to swing away from how i want t to swing, they'll find it); another idea is for a Space-Piracy-Opera, probably using the GURPS system (unless i can find something better); and, of course, i'm still running a D&D game that has a half-dozen more sessions before it should wrap up.
Basically, i don't know which one to consintrat on - and, of course, i'm still jobless, probably because i care more about fucking games than actually getting outta my parents apartment & starting a life.
