A festival for some holiday he didn't know, celebrating something he probably didn't bother with. Nonetheless, Lenalee asked, and he wanted to appease her (without making her feel like she was imposing... which she sort of was, but he didn't mind). He looked around at the sights and games, not particularly impressed by any of them.

Lenalee still thought she was imposing, and the last thing she wanted to do was get on Soren's nerves. But maybe it would do him some good to get out.

"The last time there was a real festival, I was too sick to take part in it. This is nice."

"It's noisy," he replied. He watched a festival game from afar -- a game of tossing rings to catch around bottles -- and quickly concluded that the large majority would be set to ensure a loss. In that one, the rings were heavy and recoiled easily, so that they bounced upon landing if thrown any higher than the bottlenecks. "Is there anything in particular you wanted to see here?"

It amused her, in a sort of sad way, how familiar the way Soren acted was.

"I just wanted to see what it was like here. As far as I know, I've never been to a festival."

"I'm sure you've been to at least one before. Festivals exist in any world. It's human nature."

A slight nagging feeling reminded him that he'd skipped lunch in favor of grading papers, and he cast a sidelong glance at a vendor.

She caught the glance. "Are you hungry?"

"Yes. Do you know what they're serving?"

"I'm not sure. I've only tried one thing here so far." And she didn't think Soren would really like the mitarisha balls. "We can look around, though."

He shrugged slightly and waited for Lenalee to lead them, since she seemed to have been here before. He didn't have much of a preference in the way of food. Something relatively non-exotic would be nice, but what were the chances of all the food becoming wildly foreign?
