Weddings and doctors!

Traditional wedding bore me. Indian weddings last for about 2 hours with a quick priest and even longer with one who likes the sound of his own voice. So on Friday when I had to attend another wedding following the epic one the week before I wasn't going in with the highest of hopes. But I was pleasantloy surprised! There were dull moments, especially when the priest started chanting in Sanskrit. And there were strange bits, especially when he started singing Hindi songs. But he explained what the whole ceremony was about in English and Gujarati so I understood it. And that made a huge difference.

And when the bride came in (she's my cousin) she looked absolutely amazing! Really stunning. And he didn't look half bad either.

I wish it was a bigger pic but I haven't uploaded it onto facebook yet in case I am not allowed. As it was there was no repecition (for normal phones or internet) in the hall so I couldn't use my phone on the sly anway. Let me tell you I was bereft. I have forgotten how to survive without checking my emails/social networking sites/surfing the net.

Having gone to all these wedding has actually started to make me change my mind and consider getting married one day. But I do think this change in thinking is due to the fact that I want to wear the bridal clothes and look that amazing.

Anyhoo today has been a relaxing sort of day so far. We weren't invited to the reception - long story, let's just say that the bride's father is my Dad's cousin and he has been divorced from their mother for a very long time - so instead I plan to watch Doctor Who!!

I was over the moon with joy when the 11th Doctor didn't turn out to be a let down. Last week's season opener was fun (if a little predictable) but I don't really like Amy Pond. I miss DONNA!! I think she has to grow on me. And as the episode progressed, she did, but let me just say that she was much better as a child. And why do all these women fall for the Doctor? You know she is going to. It is going to happen. The last scene of the first episode screams it (huge spoiler so I can't tell you what we all saw).

I have been cooped up inside all day working for The Wisdom Trust and it is now time to go outside. The sun has been shining all day and it is far too tempting to not go. I think I shall go for a walk. My face has sprouted all over again (when will I be too old for this crap?) and I am hoping that the walk will distract me.

Live long and prosper!

xoxo
