I have never really read any 'adult' sci-fi or fantasy books in ages. Really ages. So while I was taking a break the other day from revision, I managed to discover The Sword of Truth series by Terry Goodkind. It is a series of 11 books set in a fantasy world where a battle of good and evil is going crazy. Have any of you read the books? From what I have read this series is apparently hugely popular. So popular that they have made a TV series out of it called, The Legend of the Seeker. Have any of you been watching this TV series? It's not been broadcast here but it has in the US and I have been watching some of the episodes when ever I can't be bothered with revision any more or I have just given up for the day.
And I think I have found my new fandom.
So far I am hugely enjoying myself and am looking forward to having more time to watch the rest. The main guy, Richard (played by Craig Horner) is sooooooo very good looking. There are a whole host of lovely topless/undressing scenes and it really makes this whole revison/stress/exam situation much better. It is a great distraction. And the series is produced by Sam Raimi, the director of the Spiderman movies and the producer of Xena and Hercules and watching this TV show just makes it seem as if I am a child again.
All of us used to sit and watch new episodes of Xena and this is so similar. And my similar I mean the style of shooting and the fight scenes. Nothing else is the same. The premise is really engrossing and I am really looking forward to getting my hands on the books and reading the original story. And the love between Richard and Kahlen (the main 2 characters in the picture above) is so beautiful. I actually find it beautiful. And by that I also find it bearable which is amazing. I never find mushy crap love tolerable. But I am rooting for these characters. And I don't know how thier forbidden love will ever be bidden but I hope it is.
Maybe my frozen stone of a heart is melting. Bloody hell.
And it has given me a great new idea for a story so all is good!! ;D
If any of you do watch it or are watching it, let me know what you think of it.
But in other news.....
I HAVE A THREE HOUR EXAM TOMORROW - PHILOSOPHY OF CRIMINAL LAW. And I have worked hard but I am doubting myself like I always do. Please, please all of you wish me luck. Tomorrow at 9.30 in the morning think of me and send me nice thoughts. Please,
WISH ME LUCK!!!!!
