Action- Interrogation
Ivy slams a hand onto the table in front of her. She is in a police interrogation room and pulling off her scary blind lawyer look very well.
"Tell me what the hell you were thinking. You were found standing over the body. The police tell me they have a very strong case against you.... I can be reasonable."
She moves away pacing like a caged tiger.
"Talk to me," the Assistant District Attorney demands sounding very grave.
Angst-- Injury
The gun shot goes off. The sound is utterly deaafening and Ivy is slumped back. There's something warm on her jacket and all she can really feel is hot white pain. It shoots through her and she hears shouting but it seems all so distant now.
At least she got in the way. The kid is safe.
Fuck this hurts.
Fluff- FlirtationThey're having lunch and Ivy is in high spirits. The wine is good and the company is excellent. She really gets along with the person who joined her and she smiles brightly in their direction ( ... )

Thor is in plain clothes, somewhat bloodied, though none of the blood is his own. As the police possibly discovered, he doesn't carry identification. He does have a very limited issue Stark Industries phone, with no saved contacts or pictures, and he's had several missed calls since he's been in custody. His ringtone is predictably set to 'Thunderstruck', which says more about someone else's sense of humor than his own ( ... )

"He was a cop, you know." She moves pulling out several pictures. A clearly happy looking police officer. His pretty wife and his young boy are also featured.
"One of our best. He was very good at what he did." She places another picture of a crime scene so similar to the one Thor stumbled upon.
"This happened several weeks earlier. Do you see anything similar?" Her expression is very expressive in telling Thor everything. She still thinks he's guilty. That he might be connected to an earlier death.
"If it wasn't you we still have a killer to find. I don't like wasting my time."

Cases like this are hard on everyone.
"You're right. Someone big too. Like you, maybe. They'd need the strength to break the bones the way they had.... or the anger." Damn this isn't his crime.
"Did you hear or see anything unusual? Gotham breeds a-- Different kind of criminal. You're not from here. Wrong accent. You move different too," she admits. Her hearing is far better than most so she can pick up on how someone moves.

Her mouth sharpens in a frown because this has not turned out as she has expected.
"I need you to come with me then. You're going to walk me through what you saw. This may seem unusual but... I'm not like most lawyers. I'm going to help the police do their job so I can do mine." She moves to fetch the reed thin white cane that she uses to guide herself then stops and frowns.
"I can't drive. I can request one of the young duty officers to do so unless you have a better idea."

"If that is your wish. Had you said nothing, I would not have known this was unusual." He's met just one other lawyer, and they only succeeded in communicating the basics of the Midgardian legal system. It has many strange, specific terms which he'll never master.
"I know of cars, but I have not yet been taught their use. Have you a horse?" Someone less aware might think he was joking, or playing some game, but Ivy should be able to hear the absolutely sincerity in his voice. She's really going to have to exercise her better judgment and ask one of the duty officers to drive them.

"I'm a bit of an anomaly among my peers. I'm used to having to explain myself. There aren't very many blind lawyers, let alone prosecutors," she explains calmly.
She shakes her head. "None we can freely use, I'm afraid. I'll arrange transport."
She raps on the door soundly with her cane. It takes a moment and she gets a very surprised look.
"He's with me. We're going to clear this up," she informs the surprised officer gravely. She moves past him without much pause and the officer steps aside to let Thor past him blinking after Ivy. She knows just who to speak to about getting a ride but expects she should wait for Thor to catch up to her. Leaving him behind seems like a bad idea.

"I have forgotten what this means: prosecutors," Thor admits, completely unabashed. The lawyer he knows is sighted, and her work is to defend. It seems noble to him. He stops and stands in place before they walk too far.
"I require the device that sings, and speaks with the voices of my allies." He's trying to ask for his phone back. It wouldn't be among his chief concerns, if he hadn't promised to keep it with him.

He didn't shed a tear when he was led away, but didn't make a sound, either. Not a solitary protest or snarl or cry. It's almost as if he's forgotten how to talk, over being an awkward so-and-so just trying to waste the Assistant District Attorney's time.
There'd been a spasmodic flurry of fight left in him as he'd been chucked into a padded cell for the night. Now, only a soft rustle-clink as his hands rise, shake, obsessively trying to get the little rusty half-moons crusted under his nails to match up (as far as the handcuffs will allow). Exhale of breath, but no talky. He knows where he's bound.

"Talk to me. I know we found you there so.... Talk. Tell me what happened. What did you do. What did he do."
Her lips go thin with annoyance. He isn't talking and they have evidence. She wants to know why damn it all and damn him for not talking. Not a peep and it grates on her nerves and her sense of justice.

"Please. I'm not going to hang you out to dry. This couldn't have been fully your fault.... I've read your file."
She thinks he might be ill. That means that instead of being like some kind of wolf made of iron and copper she needs to be more compassionate. Besides she really isn't as scary as she makes herself out to be. She's still a blind woman.

A beat.
One word halts the spinning, sickening downspiral.
Fully my fault?
He's drawn breath to ask her to repeat without a thought, but chokes, eyes screwing up as a whole lot of nothing comes out. Stale air.
