Whee~ Mely's back from Silverstrand and... yay! I'll say one thing, a week without a computer really can really shock your system. I mean... we all know we're addicted and dependent, but... wow.
How was the trip?
- Jane and her kids were absolutely fabulous for letting us barge in for dinner that first night. I devoured the grilled squash and eggplant, and I love how everyone noticed the GIANT bowl of Hershey's kisses outside the bathroom, and - *eyes pop open* We Sang For Them. XD
- Pat = t3h awesUm as well for having us again. It really is more fun with her around. She has the best stories from her travels, and *snerk* I love sitting next to her in Hearts so I can pass her the Queen. <3
- Strawberry Festival. A festival of strawberries. Need I say more? Over the course of a week... how many cartons crates did we eat? Too many, yet obviously still not enough. :P
- *munch* Graham crackers apparently absorb banana flavor if placed in the same bag on the way home.
- This is the first trip to Silverstrand where I have returned NOT horribly lobster red and peeling and hurty... yay! On the other hand, smearing layers of protective grease onto my face and body for the past week hasn't made it too happy with me.
- Abby's scintillating collection of literature she brought along kept us all distracted and laughing on many an evening. Haha, I blame her entirely for not even being able to make it through one of my own. *cackles remembering the cheesy lines*
- Overall I was a lot more lazy this trip - I think everyone was. Spent less time tackling the surf, skipped out on kayaking the last day because I was too tired and just wanted to stay at home with Michael and read. (Turns out it probably was a good thing I stayed home, because I heard Holly set a brutal pace on the way back that my arms would have killed me for.)
- One of these times we really are going to tackle the Channel Islands... obviously it wasn't this time... but that leaves us with something to look forward to.
There's a carton of Breyer's Peach ice cream in my freezer, about 150 more pages or so of Wizard's First Rule, and dozens of pictures to scroll through to keep me entertained tonight. Yum. :P
