Brothers - Screw you Hollywood

I keep seeing ads for this entirely unappealing looking film. Once I paid enough attention to realize one brother comes home from the military I thought to myself, "Hey, I bet this is another shitty Liberal fanatic "war" film, with a soldier who leaves for duty, gets tortured or rapes someone, then comes back with PTSD to find out his brother who ( Read more... )

Yep this movie is horribly predictable. My sister said, "Looks like a lotta scenery chewing!" She can sum things up so well. :)

Yes, Mr. Sheridan, it's my fault you wouldn't know an original idea if it snuck up and gave you an enema.

An enema is what they need. For the whole town.

If you're going to make a war film you have to appeal to OMGWHODATHUNKIT the MILITARY. Anti war people don't like war films, even when they stroke their sensibilities. Portraying soldiers as humans with emotions like regret isn't part of their agenda so it doesn't work ( ... )

"Am I the only one who eagerly awaits the $25 million film - a serious drama like 'Brothers' - where the screwed-up brother returns from a tour of duty transformed into a responsible, resourceful and mature man ready to take his place in the world? That would not only be an inspiring and more accurate story worthy of the brave men and women who serve our country … it would finally be a fresh idea from an industry drowning in their own leftist cliches."

I completely agree with this, and about another bullshit Hollywood movie about the evils of war (or, more specifically, "Bush's Iraq War").

I'm a huge fan of war movies. Band of Brothers was great, and I'm glad they're making another series about the Pacific.

There's a movie being made for the book Lone Survivor by Marcus Luttrell, and one for No True Glory by Bing West. I've read both these books, I hope the people making these movies don't fuck them up with a bunch of Liberal bullshit.

Here's an interview with Marcus Luttrell.

Oh, and there's The Hurt Locker.

I know I've recommended this to you before, I'd like to know what you think about it. Should be on DVD by now.
