Long week here and I have come down with a major cough that just won't quit lol. So I'm going to have to make my Lost and Smallville reviews a shorten combo this week.
Lost "The Substitute" - Amazing episode!! Loved how it started out from Smokey Monster point of view. Sawyer's interaction with Fake!Locke and Richard. The way Josh did his deadpan, comedic lines were priceless. Terry did a fab job as AU!Locke and Fake!Locke. So I wonder if that little boy was actually little Jacob? Looked like he had the same eyes and hair color as adult Jacob. AU!Hurley is neat to watch and is probably the closest one to the island counterpart now due to how confident and assertive he is. Plus loved that they remembered the continuity of Hugo owning Locke's box company. It's always nice to see Helen again, but I can't help but think Helen is going to die sooner or later. Since there is no island sadly Rose faces that same fate. Always love how that actress portrays Rose with such grace that you seriously want to hear every word. Frank was priceless especially after Ben's farewell to Locke lol, and Sun knows their temple guide isn't telling the full truth.
The episode raised a lot of questions, such as why was the Man in Black trapped? Obiviously Jacob was able to get off the island, but Man in Black could not. He wants to get off this island to go home. The numbers on the wall was interesting considering the numerical order. In AU Locke's father..is well...they are on speaking terms. So how did AU!Locke get into that wheelchair? It was interesting to see Locke as the P.E./Health Sub, and Ben is a tense high school history teacher LOL. Overall, it was a great episode that gave a tiny bit of answers but raised a lot of questions.
Smallville "Persuasion" - This episode definitely could be a filler, but it was anything but. It was one of the most outstanding episodes in the second half. Next to "Absolute Justice" and "Disciple" of course lol. It's just this episode had everything it, such as comedy, romance, answers, and progression of storylines. Tess is still a shady figure. Never know what her full agenda is which just makes me enjoy her scenes so much. Cassidy does a great job at playing this role, and man does she have great chemistry with Callum's Zod. WOW!! Clois was utterly adoreable, and even though there wasn't a huge progression there was progression. We got to see Lois vulerable, and hear Clark's current feelings about Lois. Erica plays Bride!Lois wonderfully especially in her wedding dress montage (she called Mama Kent along with Sam and Lucy Lane!!). Even though we didn't hear Martha you can just feel her warmth for her son and her soon to be daughter-in-law. Seeing Relax!Emil was utterly priceless. It was so funny and showed that the actor could do some great comedy moments when given the chance lol. When Solar Towers were going online so quickly I knew something was going to happen, but I didn't know how it was going to happen. With the great rock playing and Clark torching the towers was freakin' awesome. The direction in this episode was terrific, and loved the angles. Alia's funeral was beautifully done as well as everything else. So it was Alia that killed Jor-El, and I feel so stupid because Alia did say she was sorry to Clark.
The betrayal Alia spoken of could have happened in this episode especially if the towers were put in another location because Zod was quite sad-angry when he saw his towers destoryed. If he ever finds out that Clark destoryed it, then they would truly be enemies. Clark did everything he could from talking logistics to reaching out to Zod's men. To hear one of them killed his father and the threat from Zod I can see why Clark destoryed the towers. The thing is in doing so did Clark basically point the direction of "Pandora"? Somewhat like the Terminator future. The ways to stop the future just enables it to happen. We shall see because there is a lot of storylines happening from Checkmate to Zod to even Darkseid coming to town. We shall see what happens next. I just know I enjoyed Smallville a lot this season, and looking forward to the next episode.
I know I probably didn't mention everything and I'm sorry for the grammar/typo mistakes, but hey it's just one of those weeks lol. Looking forward to next week to see what happens next in my favorite shows, and hoping my cough will go away by then lol.
