Word counts
My word count is right where it needs to be for the 13th day of nanowrimo... so I've had the time to spend the day doing "homework" of a sort. That is, perusing and note-taking and generally absorbing much of the VERY wonderful stuff certain wonderful people (you know who you are!!) have sent me on the subject of writing; plots, character formation, love scenes, etc. I'm coming to the conclusion that I'm doing all sorts of things wrong (no big surprise there!) but as this month-long writing crunch thing is halfway done, there's not much to be done about it except to push on through, and utilize these great methods and ideas after. I'll have something to work with at least; and these essays have really helped put more ideas in my head, solidified some plotlines, etc.
This writing thing is FUN. Even more fun, the learning-how-to-do-it-right. I think even after I'm done with this story, (and gods, I hope people like it) I'm going to continue with trying to write about 2000 a night. When the ideas are flowing, there's very little else that can compare to the feeling, and I'm addicted.
