so it happend. despite all threats from my mother that i'd never live to see my 16th birthday, i made it ten years past and hit 26 yesterday.
i think back 10 years and it really doesn't seem that long ago. i know, everyone says that, but it really is true. whatever, enough about getting old.
i cleared out my workout room and the nascent beginnings of a media room have emerged. i got a piece of sheet metal from home depot, an adjustable speaker bracket thingy from walmart, a few metric nuts and bolts from my junk drawer and made my own LCD projector ceiling mount. i used the old white jersey knit sheet anna and chip gave with the futon and stretched it out with finishing nails for a temporary screen until i can get the real screen material from ebay. so yeh, i have a 91" movie screen now. i used my old denon stereo receiver and two old but great full range speakers for the sound. the room is very acoustically 'bouncy' due to all of the hard surfaces (wood, tile), so it has it's own natural surround sound. i had planned on getting a nice surround system but it honestly just doesn't need it. the only thing i really need now is some good furniture, i'm thinking a sectional sofa with a pullout bed so it can be my third guest bedroom if needed.
Oh, I had a large piece of metal left over from the projector bracket, so I decided to do something creative with it on an unused canvas:
ok. well that's all for now.
