Melon Field 2 [Yuri]

Jul 08, 2008 23:47

The forest north of the village stretches to the mountain ridge bordering the sea. But before the narrow mountain pass to the sea, before the end of the forest can quite be seen, there is a melon field. The land is a little hilly here, and the forest around it is uneven, but the field itself is perfectly leveled and square. Although interest in the ( Read more... )

Ed sulked at the melons. Couldn't break them? Him? Hah! He'd show her.

"Oi, you watching?" he asked Mokona. They were just melons, right? Couldn't be that hard...

Concentrating, he clapped and placed his hands on the ground, making spires of rocks shoot out from under each melon.

Each melon bounced up into the air and then promptly plopped back to the ground intact with heavy thuds.

Now, that was annoying. But he supposed it couldn't have been that easy if everyone was whining.

Fine, then.

Ed grabbed red 1 -- after all, he liked red -- and plopped on a vaguely empty part of the field, trying to think of more things to do to it.

...Like cutting it. He could bet everyone else tried it, too, but that didn't mean he couldn't.

With another clap, he changed his automail into a blade and brought it down on the melon.

Mokona clapped from the side.

"Edward is trying very hard!"

Rika was glad that her new friend would try to break a melon. Of course, she also felt a bit guilty; honestly, the little loli had set out to manipulate Edward into looking as foolish as the others, but after finding he was such a nice guy, she felt like a real jerk for intending such a thing.

Still, there was no harm in watching, right?

"Mii~ Do your best,Ed~ "clap clap" for you nano desu!" She called, clapping her hands and smiling. Rika had not expected him to know any 'magic' so found this fun to watch. She ended up standing by Mokona; Safety in numbers, right?

This too did nothing to the melon and it remained unchanged, rind perfectly flawless as if mocking him. But that would only be in the mind of the breaker seeing as the melon didn't have a mind to start with.

"Heh, thanks..."

Though encouragement did nothing when the stupid thing. Wouldn't. Budge.

Ed tried jumping on it a few times, stomping down with his automail leg.

Yet again, all he did was risk jamming his leg with no mechanic or mechanically-inclined to help around either. The melon still did not budge, defiant of the shrimp's boy's attempts.

Ed was slowly growing more annoyed. He'd only spent a few minutes with the melon, and already, he hated it.

Well. If that was how it wanted to play.

Grumbling, he grabbed objects off the ground, hitting the melon and tossing things at them; branches, rocks, clumps of dirt, leaves, vines, and other nearby melons of different colours.

If one was watching closely when the rock hit the melon... it almost... trembled? But it would have been hard to pick out with all the things Ed continued to assault it with. Or perhaps it was just shaking from a previous hit? Either way, the rind stayed perfectly intact.

...Because one could totally see trembling in a melon being assaulted and thus shaking in general.

Ed glared at it, flopped down, and tossed it at the ground.

And it continued to sit innocently. It wasn't its fault that in his anger he hadn't been paying attention to it closely like a good little scientist. Well it wasn't the melon's fault for anything, it was just existing.

Was too. D:

Sulking, Ed chucked more things at it. Like flowers. And his coat.

And while the melon may appreciate the chance to cosplay, it did not break.

Ed retrieved his coat and reminded Ammmie to attend to Yamamoto, for he had a contest going and no replies.

He then grabbed the melon, glared, and started punching and kicking at it.

Nope, the melon wasn't breaking.
