Melon Field 4 [Foxfire]

Jul 08, 2008 23:47

South of town is a thick forest. If Memento Eden were bound by logic -- which it isn't -- then the tall trees with their ring count would dictate that this is an ancient forest. The trees are so large and prosperous that they block out the sun, giving a haunted air to an already unusually silent wood. There is nothing growing on the forest ground, ( Read more... )

Daisya meandered out to the field, eyes wide. He laughed and ran over to the green melon 3. Sure, the multicolored ones looked interesting, but melons were not made to shimmer and crap.

But...it was mysterious.

A very mysterious melon. He walked over to the multicolored 3 melon and squatted down next to it.

"Do you shimmer multi-colored on the inside?"

Daisya for a moment, felt like he was talking to an inanimate object, which he knew he was. But he sort of expected something magical to happen when talking to it.

Like teleporting him to a mountain made of candy.

"So." he said resting his foot on it. "I am going to find out if you are multicolored on the inside, or if you're dangerous." he then got up and balanced on the melon, to see if it would break open.

The melon fails to do anything of interest. Other that lie there and shine, which, when it comes right down to it, is pretty interesting in and of itself.

From what Wesker had heard, five melon fields had popped up almost overnight. He, of course, had gravitated towards the dark field. A man had an image to maintain.

He crouched down next to Multicolored Melon #5. A shimmering, rainbow-hued melon. So far as he could tell, a scientific improbability.

A man of logical courses, Wesker immediately examined the fruit's vine, as well as the soil surrounding it. He was no botanist, but an odd plant meant odd soil, yes?

There was nothing unusual about the soil other than the shiny colorful melon sitting on it.

The soil seemed normal enough- it slipped through Wesker's gloved fingers in the grainy, loose fasion usually associated with dirt. He turned his attention to the vine, fingering it with the care of a dynamite wick.

The vine looked like... whatever normal melon vines look like.

"Ah... these look good..." Allen had seen watermelons before, certainly, but never blue or red ones, and especially not rainbow ones.

Curious, he sat down next to blue 5, pulling it into his lap and tapping at it.

Unlike your average fangirl, the melon's response to being lapped by Allen was a resounding... lack of anything.

How disappointing.

Allen pouted, trying to think of a way to break it. If only he had his sword...

...Or Yuu's sword. That was easier to carry around.

Well. Nothing to do for it. He grabbed a nearby rock and tried to bash it in.

Such senseless cruelty. The MSPCM frown at you, Allen.

...Nothing happens.

Trunks set down in the middle of the field and looked around at the melons. "Eh? I've never seen any melons in a color other than green. ...Though this is Memento Eden we're talking about here." Trunks walked over to one of the red melons and prodded it with his right index finger.

"All right, time to see how tough these fruits really are!" Trunks exclaimed, and in one swift motion he drew his sword and brought it down on the melon.

"I LOVE MELONS!" Bridget squealed as he scurried over to the melon patch. He heard they were unbreakable, but melons were delicious anyways! Plus, if he broke one he could share it with people! Like Florina. Ever more determined, Bridget stared at rainbow melon 4. They were so pretty and strange! Perhaps some sort of alien melon? Curiouser and curiouser, Bridget stared and staread...

...For quite a while.

Had melons eyes, this one would have stared back. But they do not. And it did not.

"It's so pretty! Oh well, gotta break it! Breaking things is manly! ...Right?" Looking around, Bridget saw a sharp rock. Grabbing it firmly in hand, he promptly stabbed at the melon.

All this melon abuse... Enough to make a grown squash cry, it is.
