I've returned from Chicago with good news. I got accepted at the American Academy of Art. ^^
It's a great school, small and right off the Magnificent Mile with dorms within walking distance. Some uber famous people have graduated there. The people who designed the Coppertone girl, the Partridge Family logo, even the Coca-Cola Santa Clause graduated from AAA. Not to mention a little man named John Tobis, who you may remember from Mortal Combat... The school schedule even goes well with Otakon, move-in is the last week of August so I won't need to worry about school colliding with previous engagements. They give you free train and buss passes, and home is only four hours away so I can get home for the holidays/ summer. And since it's right in Chicago, that means I can get to Acen easy next year. ^^
And "oddly enough" (only not) the stuff I used in the portfolio that got me in, was all the stuff Mrs. M hated. Ha. Bitter shrew. ><;;
So I have to start organizing my stuff. My sisters have been asking, everyday since I graduated, when I'm moving out so they can have my attic room. In fact, Lena's been asking on going on three years strait. Doesn't the sisterly love just overwhelm you? She's a selfish cur, I swear... *ahem* Anyway, so I'm being moved down to their old room. Now I've got to go through all my stuff and organize it into what's going with me to Chicago, what's being put into storage, and what's being moved to the room down stairs. While I'm sad to loose my rockin' attic pad, there is an upside. I can get the bed at Ikea I've been bugging my mom about since I saw it. And Lena has to share the attic with Vlada, even though she's been bragging to Vlada about having it all to herself since we adopted the girl. So ha-ha.
