Elf boot-y got sole! Elf girls love... retail therapy.

So, I had a $20 off any order of $50 or more coupon code to use that expired today and so I spent birthday money on two pair of new elf looking boots (the black and the grey). After the taking off the code and adding S&H, I came in two dollars shy of $50. This is why it pays to buy elf boots in almost May. Even without a code, they're a steal at $30/pair. See, I can be trusted to make sensible boot purchases!

I have found a source for gorgeous vintage saris and sari trims (Ebay seller sanskriti.india), most of which appear to have been cut from vintage saris that were probably too damaged to sell whole. But what I've received has been glorious!

I picked up this lovely navy, bronze and gold embroidered trim to use for Historical Aurora. I had purchased some stuff from Calontir last year, but this is much better. So much more suited to the era, I think. The other was metalic and woven jacquard. This stuff is embroidered onto some super soft crepe silk of some sort. It's a medium weight and just drapes beautifully. I'm watching the same seller for just the right sari to use for the underskirt layer. I know I'll never find anything with the spinning wheel motif, but I've seen several I'd be satisfied with, short of embroidering or printing my own. I really don't want to put that kind of work into this one.

Then there's this unique pale green, orange, gold and lavender bullion trim. This is going to go on window treatments and some other decorative accents (throw pillows and such) in our living room. The walls are about that color and I've always wanted to pair it with a periwinkle/lavender sort of color like what's in the bullion. I also like the look of the orange in there. It's on a crinkle silk chiffon backing.

Also, there's this lovely grey, lavender, silver jacquard woven trim from Heritage Trading that will probably find its way onto an elven garment at some point.

And that's it for the pretties for now.
