I've arrived into the UK safely.

The flights were pretty long. First was the flight to Brunei - that was 5.5 hours. Then about 2 hours in Brunei, before getting back on the plane to Dubai, which was an 8.5 hour flight. In Dubai it was just a refuelling and picking up more passengers, meaning we literally got off the plane, went through security/x-ray, and got back on the plane again. That was a 7.5 hour flight. And then I arrived into the UK. Happily I got through immigration in no time at all, and my bag was there to collect almost as soon as I was there to get it... and I had nothing to declare.

Brunei was... the typically boring airport. Old horrible carpet and uncomfy seats. I'd read that the bathrooms there were awful, so I made sure to use the one on the plane before we landed. Dubai was interesting - I haven't seen cigarette advertising for YEARS. Like, in Australia, it's been illegal for just about all my life. But every piece of advertising I saw in Dubai was cigarette, and there was a lot of it.

The airline I flew on was Royal Brunei. I'd read a lot bad about them before I flew - I wasn't really concerned, though, because I thought people were whinging over nothing. And funnily enough - through my experience, anyway, I was right. The staff were nice. The meals were good - not the best airline food I've ever eaten, but far from the worst. I mean, it wasn't 'western' cuisine, but why should that matter?

And I did manage to get some sleep on the planes. Maybe 2 hours on the second flight, and 4 hours on the second flight. It wasn't good deep sleep though - I kept waking up and needing to adjust the position I was in, because my knees really don't like whatever angle was the most natural to sit at! Thankfully, I had an empty seat beside me on all the flights, so that helped!

Um, and then I had to get myself up to Bedford. Not a problem, I knew how I wanted to do it - but of course, I couldn't find directions to where I needed to be to get there, could I? And I must admit that after 24 hours of mostly being awake, I'm not at my best :p

I did figure it out, and I don't think it even took me that long - well, there was apparently an easier way that perhaps I could have gone for, but - who cares? I got there eventually, even with a mooshed brain.

Its also kinda funny, the things that you remember 10 years later - just things I saw last time that I wouldn't have even been able to place... but when I saw then, I was like... oh yeah, I've been HERE before!

So now I'm at raeyn's place. Virginia and hubby Neil and baby Leah live in Bedford with cats Poison and Batman. Baby is sleeping, while the rest of us watch the olympics and surf the net, haha. Apparently, it's Neil's father's birthday, so we shall be dropping by there later today to like... say happy birthday. And stuff.

Other than that, I don't think we have many plans for the day - is mostly about chilling and hoping that I adjust to the time difference okay :) Is weird, coz of course my laptop is telling me that its 7:30pm. Which it is in Perth, but it doesn't feel like that time of day, so that's a positive :)
