I feel a lot more Rockstar-ish than I've felt in awhile. My Cub program was excellent tonight and my kids were incredible while they were at camp. Just what I needed considering I feel crummy again (wtf immune system?) and really wasn't in the mood. Also...
I HAVE A NEW LEADER!!! He's coming all the way from Cote Vertu(probably 45 minutes away at least) to work with me and he's *awesome*. I think we're going to make a good team.
My kids are showing up more prepared, they are excited to get their badges, they're enjoying the activities, they shy kids are taking less and less time to warm up... it's nothing but win lately (except that the group is small). Tonight's program looked like this:
Opening and Check-in (one good and/or bad thing from the past week)
Talk about camp
Discuss Thanksgiving
Game: arrange chairs in a circle, one person is left without a chair and stands in the middle to make a statement. Anyone that statement applies to must switch chairs. (we play this often as a bonding exercise but tonight it was things we are thankful for). The person left standing makes the next statement. You can't take the chair next to you or the one you had in the last turn.
Badgework: two brothers showed a coin collection
Game: I made mancala boards on paper and they played with raisins (after washing their hands)
Craft: we made pompoms and tied them to silk leaves as autumn centerpieces.
Closing (I even had time to give out badges)
All this in an hour and a half! I done good!
