My funeral playlist?

Aug 18, 2011 16:10

In an interview lately, Bill talked about the playlist he'd choose for his funeral. He seemed to have put a lot of thought in it, and it made me think about mine too. I realized it's not only about the songs, but about the legacies and message you want to leave behind. The songs below instantly came to mind. There's only five. None of these songs are sad! All of them have happy messages, because I always want my loved ones to be happy.

Historia De Un Sueno - La Oreja De Van Gogh
Tokio Hotel is nice and all, but LOVG is my favorite band of all time. This song is about death, but it's happy. Here's my translation of it.

Sorry I came by without calling. I know this isn't the right time, and much less the right place. But I had to tell you that heaven isn't so bad.

Tomorrow you'll remember. "Nothing more than a dream," you'll repeat to yourself. And in the form of an answer, a shooting star will pass by.

I have to leave again; leave you, my love, on Earth in peace. I only wanted to say goodbye, give you a kiss and see you one more time.

Promise me you'll be happy, that'll you always be this pretty when you laugh. That's the way I want to remember you. Like that, like before. My darling, it's best this way.

And now you need to rest. You dress for bed like the years before. Remember how I would sing to you before you went to sleep? Now they only let me visit you during the spaces between your dreams. It's a sad night when I don't get the chance to say goodbye.

And now I reach for you, only you. This is our journey. We walk it separately now. I'm running late and I have to leave again; in a few seconds you're going to wake up.

I Am The Best - 2NE1
I love the attitude of this song so much. I had my moments of fun and badassery. Even after I'm gone, I don't want people to forget that I was the best.

Divenre - Ludovico Einaudi
This is a beautiful song, and people should always appreciate beautiful things. This song makes me think of a spring day, with flowers on the trees blowing in a moderate gust.

4th movement of Beethoven's Symphony No. 9 One Two Three
This song is a rush. I love it. It takes you on a journey. The way this movement ends is just pure joy, it lifts you into the air and sets you soaring. I have a lot of emotional attachment to this song.

Linus and Lucy - Vince Guaraldi
A call to my childhood, this energizing song is full of memories for me. My mom always loved it, so this one's for her.

Don't Cry - Park Bom (jun ariea remix)
This song never fails in making me feel utterly elated and blissed out, full of energy. It imbues me in the most awesome, positive mood every single time. It makes me want to take flight on a gorgeous summer morning, flying in the open blue skies. It's the frequencies, I think. Something about these frequencies does wondrous things with my mood. The message is nice too. Don't cry when I'm gone, be happy.
