The Grandline Men

Post-birthday gets.

Figures featured:
1) One Piece The Grandline Men vol. 6 - Sanji
2) Dragon Ball Kai x One Piece DX figure - Roronoa Zoro

I haven't determined my focus in One Piece collection but in the meanwhile I'm picking up figures that I like the look of.

First up is Sanji from Banpresto's The Grandline Men (GLM) series.

The other GLM Sanji has the exact same pose as this, but with green inner shirt and a striped tie. I like this formal attire better because the blue-black colour combo just works.

Shiny shoes add a classic polished look.

I actually prefer Megahouse's rendition of Sanji in their Portrait of Pirates (P.O.P) series because the facial features closely matches the anime/manga artworks. The GLM series is a nice alternative if I'm in a tight budget but being prize figures I would expect some paint job complaints. My decision mostly depends on which figures has the accuracy and faithfulness that makes me say, "Ah, that's_____(character name) for sure!"

Next up Banpresto's Dragon Ball Kai x One Piece featuring Roronoa Zoro.

I'm amazed how far back he leans if viewed from the side. He's got some flexible backbone...
Parts of the creases are touched up too much in black, so it appears fairly dark.

Details on the earrings and chest scar are well-handled.
Tried my best to show that badass Zoro pose. xD

Dare I say this Zoro is the BEST in terms of facial features accuracy? That frown. That is Zoro, without a doubt! Last time I checked Y!J this figure skyrocketed in price, I wonder if the winning prices are worth it. With this kind of faithfulness to the character, I say it's well worth it. I must put a limit though - I can't see he would go beyond older release P.O.Ps.

Both Sanji and Zoro are similar in sizes so they display nicely together. It would be better if they are made to scale, but with superbly handled details I can overlook that fact.
